The fitting experience

Forty-five minutes that change how running feels.

Here is exactly what happens when you walk in, step by step, so nothing about it is a surprise. Both feet scanned in 3D. Your stride read on the treadmill. Two or three real candidates on your feet. Free, whether you buy or not.

Why we do both

A measurement tells us your feet. A stride tells us your running.

Most stores do one or the other. Scan-only misses what happens at speed, when your arch loads and your ankle rolls and the whole picture changes. Watch-only misses the structure underneath. Neither half is wrong. Both halves together are the reason the shoe works.

No other running store in Utah County does both. That is not marketing. It is just what is on the floor in Lindon.

The walkthrough

Start to finish, nothing hidden.

About 45 minutes · pending confirmation

01

You arrive, and we talk first

Before anything gets measured we ask what you are training for, what hurts, what you are running in now, and how many miles a week that shoe has on it. Two minutes of conversation saves twenty minutes of guessing.

Bring the shoes you run in now. The wear pattern is evidence.

02

Both feet, scanned in 3D

You stand on the scanner and it maps length, width, arch height, and pressure points for each foot separately. It takes about a minute. Most people find out their feet are two different sizes, and that one detail alone explains a lot of pain.

You see the same screen we do. Ask about anything on it.

03

A short run, and we watch

Thirty seconds on the treadmill at an easy pace. We are reading how your foot lands, how far it rolls, and how you push off. Nervous about being watched? Everyone is, and it passes about ten seconds in. You can run in what you walked in wearing.

No pace test. No fitness assessment. Easy means easy.

04

Two or three real candidates

We pull from 28 brands, not from whatever we need to move. You put them on, you run in them, and you tell us what you feel. If none of them are right, we say so. That happens, and it is a better answer than a sale.

Price range is your call. Say it out loud and we will respect it.

05

You take them home and run for real

A store floor is not a long run. Put thirty days of actual miles on them. If they are wrong, bring them back, worn, dirty, whatever. We would rather refit you than have you quit running.

The fitting is free because the fit is the point.

What you walk out with

More than a box.

Four things

01

Your numbers

Length, width, and arch for each foot separately, so the next pair starts from evidence, not memory.

02

The reason why

Not just which shoe, but what about your stride made it the answer. In plain English, out loud, before you pay for anything.

03

Thirty days to be sure

Run in them on your roads, in your weather, at your distance. That is the only test that counts.

04

A store that stays

Something starts hurting in week three? Come back in. That conversation is free too, and it is the whole reason we are here.

Come as you are

You do not have to look like a runner to be one.

A lot of people put this off because they think they are not fast enough, not fit enough, or not far enough along to deserve a real fitting. Everyone who works here has been at the start of something. Walk in on day one. That is the best possible time.

Not a runner at all? Still come in. If you stand all day or your feet hurt in the morning, the scan finds the same things.

What to bring

The shoes you run or walk in now

The socks you actually wear

Any insoles or orthotics you use

Clothes you can move thirty seconds in

None of it is required. We have covered all of it before.

"Im new to running and am not your traditional runner. I went in to have my feet scanned to determine what shoe would be best for me. The staff was incredible and super friendly / helpful. I got lined up with an amazing new shoe."

"UtahRUN is a runner's dream. They take the time to do gait analysis and recommend the perfect shoes, which makes the shopping experience feel personalized and thoughtful... the staff are passionate runners themselves, so their advice is trustworthy."

"My husband and I are new to running and went in not knowing a whole ton. Jess was AMAZING!!! My husband had a long list of questions and she was so patient and knowledgeable."

Before you come in.

Walk-ins are welcome and always have been. Booking just guarantees a fitter is free the moment you arrive, which matters most on Saturdays and weekday evenings.

Yes. The scan and the gait analysis cost nothing whether you leave with shoes or leave with information. Plenty of people do the second one and come back later. That is fine by us.

It is about thirty seconds at an easy pace, and the person watching is looking at your ankles, not judging your form. If it genuinely is not going to work for you, tell your fitter. We can learn a lot from the scan and from the wear on your current shoes.

Whatever you have on. If you can bring the socks you actually run in and the shoes you run in now, both help. The socks change the fit and the wear pattern tells us how you land.

Yes, and it is one of our favorite kinds of visit. Growing feet change fast enough that a scan is worth it every season. More on kids and family fittings.
